Those days of Jeff Bezos's dominance are over. Now, the wealthiest guy in India has more money than the creator of Amazon.

This week, India's richest billionaire Gautam Adani overtook Amazon's founder Jeff Bezos in the global wealth rankings.

Forbes and Bloomberg both place Adani in the top three wealthiest people in the world, with estimates ranging from $147 billion to $152 billion.

Bezos's current net worth is estimated at roughly $147 billion, making him either the third (Bloomberg) or fourth (Forbes) most affluent person in the world (Forbes).

According to The Washington Post, there was a change in the order of the ultra-wealthy on Friday, with three different persons taking turns at number two.

Even though Adani is ranked higher than Bezos in both lists, LVMH luxury goods magnate Bernard Arnault is ranked second in one list and fourth in the other.

According to The Times of India, Adani's portfolio has expanded this year to include cement, airports, coal, and more, which estimates that Adani's net worth has grown by over $61 billion. Regarding wealth, Adani is the first Asian to crack the top three.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, continues to dominate both rankings.

According to research published by Oxfam earlier this year, while the wealth of the world's ten wealthiest individuals increased during the COVID-19 epidemic, the incomes of the remaining 99% of the world's population fell.
