September 18, Beijing (Xinhua) — A recent analysis demonstrated that China's average contribution to global economic development exceeded 30 percent between 2013 and 2021, placing it first worldwide.

China's GDP accounted for 18.5% of the global total in 2021, making it the second largest and up 7.2% from 2012. According to the NBS.

China's GDP expanded 6.6% annually from 2013 to 2021, faster than the global economy (2.6%) and developing economies (3.7%)

With inflation taken into account, last year's GDP per capita in China was 80,976 yuan (about 11,684 US dollars), up 69.7 percent from 2012.

This paper focused on the past decade of innovation-driven growth in China. As stated by the World Intellactual Property Organization, the country has risen from the bottom of the Global Innovation Index to the top 12.

Final consumption expenditure accounted for 65.4% of the growth in China's economy in 2021, demonstrating the country's improved economic structure and more unified growth over the preceding decade. It's up 10% from 2012, while the manufacturing sector's value-added has increased by 74% in the same time frame.

From 2013 to 2021, China's total afforestation area was about 59.44 million hectares, contributing significantly to the country's green development efforts.

The value of China's total goods and services exports in 2021 was estimated at USD 6.9 trillion, making it the world's largest trading nation.

China has also sought a growth model that is more inclusive in the hopes of bringing about universally beneficial improvements. It further stated that by 2020, China would have rescued 98.99 million people living in rural areas who were poor in 2013.
